I didn't want my map to look like the weather forecast and traffic maps that are also present on those TV, failing to catch the attention straight away. ![]() And I had two issues with my regular map: Which meant that I had 1-2 seconds to catch the attention of walking employees, and a few more seconds to convey my message. A few months ago, I decided to build a Belgium HEX map, and here is how it went: I was tasked by a client to build a dashboard that will be mainly displayed on the company's TV screens in the office. And building your own can look daunting: polygons, blending, and having to decide for yourself how to arrange the different regions together. Indeed, most online plug-and-play solutions are designed for the US territory. ![]() HEX maps are really cool, but if you don't live in the US, you probably didn't use many in your Tableau work so far.
